Description

CVE-2026-53368 is a vulnerability in the Linux kernel's f2fs filesystem related to incorrect usage of nat_entry flags without proper locking. This flaw can cause filesystem inconsistencies detected by fsck due to incorrect inode block marking states. The issue arises because f2fs_need_dentry_mark() reads nat_entry flags without mutual exclusion with checkpoint operations, leading to state discrepancies. The vulnerability has been fixed by moving the set_dentry_mark() call into a locked context within __write_node_folio().
