A patch is available for this vulnerability. Users should update to the fixed Linux kernel versions as provided by their distribution vendors. The Ubuntu advisory USN-8593-1 confirms that this and other Linux kernel vulnerabilities have been fixed. Applying the official kernel updates will mitigate this issue.
Description
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's iommu/vt-d subsystem was resolved that involved improper handling of PASID attachment to nested domains with dirty tracking. The kernel lacked dirty tracking support on nested domains attached to PASID, which could cause loss of dirty pages if the nesting parent domain was not configured for dirty tracking. This issue has been fixed in updated Linux kernel versions.
