Published: 06/23/2026 (06/23/2026, 15:32:06 UTC)
Source: CVE Database V5
Vendor/Project: n8n-io
Product: n8n

Description

A reflected cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability exists in n8n prior to version 2.24.0. This occurs in the Meta and Microsoft Teams trigger nodes where a query parameter is reflected in the HTTP response without proper sanitization or Content-Security-Policy headers. The vulnerability allows a logged-in user to be exposed to XSS attacks when visiting a crafted URL. The issue is fixed in version 2.24.0.

Technical Analysis

n8n-io's n8n workflow automation platform has a reflected XSS vulnerability (CWE-79) in versions before 2.24.0. Specifically, an endpoint in the Meta and Microsoft Teams trigger nodes reflects a query parameter into the HTTP response without sanitization or Content-Security-Policy headers. This enables reflected cross-site scripting attacks in the context of the n8n origin when a logged-in user visits a maliciously crafted URL. The vulnerability is addressed in version 2.24.0.

Potential Impact

Successful exploitation allows an attacker to execute arbitrary scripts in the context of the logged-in user's browser session on the n8n platform. This can lead to actions performed with the user's privileges, potentially exposing sensitive information or enabling further attacks within the application context.

Mitigation Recommendations

Upgrade n8n to version 2.24.0 or later, where this vulnerability is fixed. No other official remediation or temporary fixes are indicated. Users should apply this update promptly to mitigate the risk.
