Description

CVE-2026-54632 is an improper input validation vulnerability in sipsorcery versions prior to 10.0.9. It affects RTP and STUN packet parsing functions, allowing a remote attacker to send short or malformed packets to terminate active RTP or WebRTC media sessions. Exploitation requires knowledge of the ephemeral RTP/ICE port but no authentication or user interaction. The impact is limited to availability, causing denial of service. This issue is fixed in version 10.0.9.

Technical Analysis

SIPSorcery, a WebRTC, SIP, and VoIP library for C# and .NET, contains an improper input validation vulnerability (CWE-20) in RTPChannel.OnRTPPacketReceived and STUN attribute parsing functions (STUNAttribute.ParseMessageAttributes, STUNXORAddressAttribute, STUNAddressAttribute). These functions index untrusted bytes without sufficient length checks. When malformed short RTP packets or zero-to-seven-byte STUN address attributes are sent to the shared RTP/ICE socket, including during ICE connectivity checks before DTLS or STUN MESSAGE-INTEGRITY verification, a non-socket exception is raised causing UdpReceiver.EndReceiveFrom to close the channel. This allows a remote attacker who can reach or learn the ephemeral RTP/ICE port to terminate active RTP or WebRTC media sessions, resulting in denial of service. The vulnerability is fixed in version 10.0.9.

Potential Impact

An unauthenticated remote attacker who can send packets to the ephemeral RTP/ICE port can cause denial of service by terminating active RTP or WebRTC media sessions. There is no confidentiality or integrity impact. The impact is limited to availability disruption.

Mitigation Recommendations

Upgrade sipsorcery to version 10.0.9 or later, where this vulnerability is fixed. No other mitigation is indicated by the vendor advisory.
