Technical Analysis

CVE-2026-56703 is a remote code execution vulnerability in Adminer prior to version 5.4.3. The flaw arises because the SQLite VACUUM INTO command is not blocked despite ATTACH restrictions, allowing authenticated users to write PHP code to arbitrary file paths and execute server-side commands. This improper control of code generation leads to a critical security risk.

Potential Impact

An attacker with authentication privileges can execute arbitrary PHP code on the server by exploiting the VACUUM INTO command, potentially leading to full system compromise or unauthorized command execution.

Mitigation Recommendations

Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. Until an official fix is available, restrict access to authenticated users and monitor for suspicious use of the VACUUM INTO command.
