Description

CVE-2026-57223 is a local privilege escalation vulnerability in Suricata affecting Windows installations prior to versions 7.0.17 and 8.0.6. The issue arises from unquoted service ImagePath parameters during service installation, which can allow a low-privileged local attacker to execute arbitrary code as LocalSystem if the installation path contains spaces and an earlier path component is writable. This vulnerability has a high severity rating and is fixed in Suricata versions 7.0.17 and 8.0.6.
