Vendor/Project: Labs64
Product: NetLicensing-MCP

Description

CVE-2026-57496 is a critical path traversal vulnerability in Labs64 NetLicensing-MCP versions prior to 0.1.8. It allows an authenticated MCP client with a non-administrative API key to manipulate the product_number parameter to access sensitive token data that should be protected. This can lead to disclosure of administrative tokens, enabling broad read, write, and delete access to the NetLicensing account. The vulnerability is fixed in version 0.1.8.

Technical Analysis

NetLicensing MCP Server versions before 0.1.8 improperly handle the product_number parameter in the netlicensing_get_product function. This parameter is interpolated into a REST path without validation, allowing path traversal to the /token endpoint. The response bypasses token redaction protections, exposing plaintext token values. An attacker with a non-administrative API key can exploit this to retrieve administrative tokens, escalating privileges and gaining extensive control over the NetLicensing account. The issue is resolved in version 0.1.8.

Potential Impact

An authenticated user with a non-administrative API key can exploit this vulnerability to obtain plaintext administrative tokens. This leads to a complete compromise of the NetLicensing account, including the ability to read, write, and delete licensing data. The CVSS score of 9.6 reflects the high impact on confidentiality and integrity, with no impact on availability.

Mitigation Recommendations

Upgrade to version 0.1.8 or later, where this vulnerability is fixed. No other mitigations are indicated by the vendor advisory.
