Upgrade kanboard to version 1.2.53 or later, where this authorization bypass vulnerability is fixed. No other mitigation is indicated by the vendor advisory.

Description

CVE-2026-58660 is an authorization bypass vulnerability in kanboard versions before 1.2.53. The flaw exists in the BoardAjaxController save() method, where the system validates the caller's role on the attacker-supplied project_id but does not verify that the supplied task_id belongs to that project. This allows any authenticated user with membership in at least one project to enumerate and move tasks from other projects, including private ones they are not authorized to access.
