Vendor/Project: Apache Software Foundation
Product: Apache CloudStack

Description

Apache CloudStack versions from 4.2.0.0 through 4.20.3.0 and from 4.21.0.0 through 4.22.1.0 have a vulnerability in the LDAP authentication plugin that allows exposure of sensitive information. Technical Analysis

The vulnerability in Apache CloudStack's LDAP authentication plugin allows exposure of sensitive LDAP configuration information to unauthorized actors. The listLdapConfigurations API, which lists LDAP providers, is accessible by default to all authenticated users with default roles, enabling them to retrieve sensitive LDAP configuration details. This affects Apache CloudStack versions 4.2.0.0 through 4.20.3.0 and 4.21.0.0 through 4.22.1.0. The issue is resolved in versions 4.20.3.1 and 4.22.1.1 and later.

Potential Impact

Sensitive LDAP configuration information can be accessed by any authenticated user with default roles, potentially exposing internal directory service details that could aid further attacks or unauthorized access attempts.

Mitigation Recommendations

Users should upgrade Apache CloudStack to versions 4.20.3.1, 4.22.1.1, or later to remediate this vulnerability. No other mitigation or temporary workaround is indicated in the available data.
