VulnerabilityCVE-2026-60060cvecve-2026-60060
Published: 07/17/2026 (07/17/2026, 04:13:38 UTC)
Source: CVE Database V5
Vendor/Project: TeraTerm Project
Product: TTSSH2

Description

Improper Handling of Length Parameter Inconsistency (CWE-130) vulnerability exists in TTSSH2 plugin of Tera Term provided by TeraTerm Project. When Tera Term attempts to establish an SSH connection to a server set up by an attacker, out-of-bounds read/write may occur. As a result, the contents of adjacent memory regions may be transmitted to the server, and Tera Term may behave unexpected or terminate abnormally.

Technical Analysis

The vulnerability CVE-2026-60060 affects the TTSSH2 plugin of the Tera Term project. It arises from improper handling of length parameter inconsistencies (CWE-130) when establishing an SSH connection. An attacker controlling the SSH server can trigger out-of-bounds memory read/write operations, leading to disclosure of adjacent memory contents and instability or crash of the Tera Term client. The CVSS 3.0 base score is 6.3, indicating a medium severity with network attack vector, low attack complexity, no privileges required, user interaction required, and impacts on confidentiality, integrity, and availability.

Potential Impact

Successful exploitation can lead to leakage of adjacent memory contents to an attacker-controlled SSH server, potentially exposing sensitive information. Additionally, Tera Term may behave unexpectedly or terminate abnormally, impacting availability and integrity of the client session.

Mitigation Recommendations

Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. No official fix or temporary workaround has been documented at this time.
