Technical Analysis

This vulnerability exists in the Runtime Tools component of Oracle WebCenter Portal within Oracle Fusion Middleware. It is easily exploitable by an attacker with low privileges and network access over HTTP. Successful exploitation can lead to complete compromise of Oracle WebCenter Portal, impacting confidentiality, integrity, and availability. The CVSS 3.1 vector indicates network attack vector, low attack complexity, low privileges required, no user interaction, and scope change with high impact on confidentiality, integrity, and availability. The vulnerability is tracked as CWE-287 (Improper Authentication). Oracle's July 2026 Critical Patch Update advisory references this vulnerability among many others but does not explicitly state patch availability or remediation details for this specific CVE.

Potential Impact

Successful exploitation allows an attacker with low privileges and network access to fully compromise Oracle WebCenter Portal, resulting in complete loss of confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the affected system. The vulnerability also has a scope change, meaning it may impact additional Oracle products beyond WebCenter Portal.

Mitigation Recommendations

Oracle has released a Critical Patch Update advisory in July 2026 that addresses numerous vulnerabilities across its product portfolio, including Oracle WebCenter Portal. However, the advisory does not explicitly confirm patch availability or remediation details for CVE-2026-60568. Customers are strongly advised to review the July 2026 Critical Patch Update advisory and apply all relevant patches promptly. Until explicit patch information is confirmed, monitor Oracle's official security advisories for updates and apply patches as soon as they become available.
