Technical Analysis

This vulnerability affects Oracle Product Hub within Oracle E-Business Suite, specifically versions 12.2.3 through 12.2.15. It is an easily exploitable issue that permits a low privileged attacker with network access over HTTP to compromise the product, potentially resulting in full system takeover. The CVSS 3.1 vector indicates network attack vector, low attack complexity, low privileges required, no user interaction, unchanged scope, and high impact on confidentiality, integrity, and availability. Oracle's July 2026 Critical Patch Update advisory references this vulnerability but does not explicitly state patch availability or remediation level for it. The advisory emphasizes the importance of applying patches without delay to prevent exploitation of known vulnerabilities.

Potential Impact

Successful exploitation of CVE-2026-61311 can lead to complete compromise of Oracle Product Hub, affecting confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the system. This means an attacker could gain unauthorized access, modify or destroy data, and disrupt service operations. The vulnerability is exploitable remotely over HTTP by an attacker with low privileges, increasing the risk of widespread impact if left unpatched.

Mitigation Recommendations

Oracle has released a Critical Patch Update in July 2026 that addresses multiple security vulnerabilities, including those affecting Oracle products. Although the advisory does not explicitly confirm a patch for CVE-2026-61311, Oracle strongly recommends that customers apply all available security patches promptly and remain on actively supported versions. Patch status for this vulnerability is not explicitly confirmed; therefore, users should consult the Oracle Critical Patch Update advisory at https://www.oracle.com/security-alerts/cpujul2026.html for the latest patch and remediation information. No vendor advisory states that no action is required or that the issue is already mitigated.
