Technical Analysis

This vulnerability affects Oracle EDI Gateway component of Oracle E-Business Suite, specifically version 12.2.3. It permits a low privileged attacker with network access over HTTP to compromise the gateway and obtain unauthorized read access to a subset of data. The CVSS 3.1 base score is 4.3, reflecting a confidentiality impact only, with no impact on integrity or availability. The vendor advisory from Oracle's July 2026 Critical Patch Update does not explicitly confirm a patch or remediation for this specific vulnerability, though it strongly recommends applying available patches promptly. No known exploits in the wild have been reported.

Potential Impact

Successful exploitation results in unauthorized read access to some Oracle EDI Gateway accessible data. There is no impact on data integrity or system availability. The attack requires low privileges and network access via HTTP, making it relatively easy to exploit within those constraints.

Mitigation Recommendations

Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the Oracle advisory at https://www.oracle.com/security-alerts/cpujul2026.html for current remediation guidance. Oracle recommends applying security patches without delay on actively supported versions. Until a patch is confirmed, restrict network access to the Oracle EDI Gateway and monitor for unusual access patterns consistent with unauthorized data reads.
