Upgrade to version 8.1.0 or later, where this vulnerability is fixed. No other mitigations are indicated or effective given the unauthenticated nature and severity of the flaw.

Description

CVE-2026-61564 is a critical code injection vulnerability in WWBN AVideo-Encoder versions prior to 8.1.0. The unauthenticated installer endpoint 'install/checkConfiguration.php' improperly interpolates request parameters into PHP string literals without escaping, allowing attackers to inject and execute arbitrary PHP code as the web-server user. Exploitation requires the absence of the 'videos/configuration.php' file, which is typical on fresh deployments or after file removal. The vulnerability also enables arbitrary file read/write and a secondary SQL injection via unsanitized INSERT statements. This issue is fixed in version 8.1.0.
