CVE-2026-62362: CWE-89: Improper Neutralization of Special Elements used in an SQL Command ('SQL Injection') in PBH-BTN PeerBanHelper
Description
PeerBanHelper versions from 5.0.0 up to but not including 9.3.15 contain an SQL injection vulnerability in the /api/statistic/analysis/field endpoint. Authenticated users can supply a crafted field parameter that is not properly sanitized before being interpolated into SQL queries, allowing unauthorized reading of all data in the PeerBanHelper database. This vulnerability is fixed in version 9.3.15.

Technical Analysis
PeerBanHelper's /api/statistic/analysis/field endpoint accepts a field query parameter from authenticated users and passes it to countField or sumField functions. The mapField() method forwards unrecognized field names without sanitization, interpolating them directly into SQL queries via ${field} in SQLite, MySQL, and PostgreSQL mappers. This improper neutralization of special elements leads to an SQL injection vulnerability, enabling an attacker to read all data in the PeerBanHelper database. The issue is resolved in version 9.3.15.
Potential Impact
Successful exploitation allows an authenticated user to perform SQL injection attacks that can read all data stored in the PeerBanHelper database. The vulnerability does not affect data integrity or availability but compromises confidentiality.
Mitigation Recommendations
Upgrade PeerBanHelper to version 9.3.15 or later where this SQL injection vulnerability is fixed. No other mitigations are indicated by the vendor advisory.
