Technical Analysis

This vulnerability (CVE-2026-62466) exists in the Data Removal Tool component of Oracle Human Resources within Oracle E-Business Suite. It affects version 12.2.3 and allows a high privileged attacker with network access via HTTP to compromise the system. The CVSS 3.1 vector (AV:N/AC:L/PR:H/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H) indicates network attack vector, low attack complexity, high privileges required, no user interaction, unchanged scope, and high impact on confidentiality, integrity, and availability. The vulnerability can lead to complete takeover of Oracle Human Resources. Oracle's July 2026 Critical Patch Update advisory references multiple patches but does not explicitly confirm patch availability or remediation status for this specific CVE. Customers are urged to apply available patches from Oracle's Critical Patch Update to address this and other vulnerabilities.

Potential Impact

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability can result in complete compromise of the Oracle Human Resources system, affecting confidentiality, integrity, and availability. This means sensitive HR data could be exposed, altered, or deleted, and the system could be fully controlled by an attacker with high privileges and network access via HTTP.

Mitigation Recommendations

Oracle has released a Critical Patch Update advisory in July 2026 that addresses numerous vulnerabilities across its product portfolio. Although the advisory does not explicitly confirm a patch for CVE-2026-62466, Oracle strongly recommends applying all relevant Critical Patch Updates without delay to mitigate this vulnerability. Patch status is not yet confirmed for this specific vulnerability—check the Oracle advisory at https://www.oracle.com/security-alerts/cpujul2026.html for the latest remediation guidance.
