Technical Analysis

Omnispace Agora Project before version 26.10.0 contains a critical vulnerability where the persistent remember-me token is stored in plaintext on the server side. This token matches the bearer credential in the user's cookie exactly. If an attacker gains access to the stored token through means such as database or backup disclosure, they can replay the token to authenticate as the victim user without requiring the victim's password. This flaw exposes user accounts to unauthorized access via token replay attacks.

Potential Impact

Attackers who obtain the stored remember-me token can impersonate users without needing their passwords, leading to unauthorized access to user accounts. The vulnerability compromises authentication integrity and user session security.

Mitigation Recommendations

A fix is available in Omnispace Agora Project version 26.10.0 and later. Users and administrators should upgrade to version 26.10.0 or newer to remediate this vulnerability. No additional mitigation guidance is provided in the vendor advisory.
