Published: 10/13/2026 (10/13/2026, 19:52:25 UTC)
Source: CVE Database V5
Vendor/Project: Omnispace
Product: Agora Project

Description

Omnispace Agora Project versions before 26.10.0 have a path traversal vulnerability that allows attackers to write arbitrary files outside the intended temporary directory by manipulating the tmpFolderName parameter. This can lead to remote code execution if attacker-controlled files are placed in sensitive locations such as the web root.

Technical Analysis

CVE-2026-63162 describes a path traversal vulnerability in Omnispace Agora Project prior to version 26.10.0. The flaw arises from improper limitation of a pathname to a restricted directory, specifically when an unanchored tmpFolderName value is supplied in the upload destination path. Attackers can exploit this by providing traversal sequences to write files outside the designated temporary directory, potentially enabling remote code execution by placing malicious files in critical locations like the web root.

Potential Impact

Successful exploitation allows an attacker with limited privileges to write arbitrary files outside the intended temporary directory, including locations such as the web root. This can lead to remote code execution, compromising the affected system's security and integrity.

Mitigation Recommendations

A fix is available in Omnispace Agora Project version 26.10.0. Users should upgrade to version 26.10.0 or later to remediate this vulnerability. No additional mitigation steps are indicated.
