AI-suggested

Upgrade to zt-zip version 1.18.0 or later, where the vulnerability is fixed by adding destination-boundary validation. Applications extracting untrusted archives should avoid using the vulnerable API and instead use ZipUtil.unpack(...) which already performs the necessary validation.

Description

A path traversal vulnerability (CWE-22) exists in zeroturnaround zt-zip versions prior to 1.18.0. The Zips.get(zip).unpack().destination(outputDir).process() API constructs output file paths directly from ZIP entry names without validating that files remain within the intended output directory. This allows crafted ZIP entries with parent-directory traversal sequences to write files outside the designated output directory. The issue is fixed in version 1.18.0.
