AI-suggested

Upgrade isomorphic-git to version 1.38.6 or later, where this vulnerability is fixed. No other mitigation is indicated or required.

Description

isomorphic-git versions prior to 1.38.6 contain a vulnerability where server-supplied circular symbolic references are persisted and followed without cycle detection or depth limits. This leads to uncontrolled recursion during operations like log, status, checkout, and branch, causing these commands to not terminate and resulting in a persistent denial of service. The issue is fixed in version 1.38.6.
