Published: 10/16/2026 (10/16/2026, 12:11:51 UTC)
Source: CVE Database V5
Vendor/Project: Apache Software Foundation
Product: Apache Kylin

Description

Apache Kylin versions 4.0.0 through 5.0.4 contain a missing authorization vulnerability in a backend metadata dump API. This flaw allows unauthorized access due to insufficient authorization checks and lack of path confinement. The vulnerability primarily impacts Kylin services exposed directly to public networks, which is uncommon; most in-house deployments are not affected. The issue is fixed in version 5.0.5.

Technical Analysis

CVE-2026-63619 describes a missing authorization vulnerability (CWE-862) in Apache Kylin's backend metadata dump API. The API does not enforce adequate authorization or path confinement, potentially allowing unauthorized users to access sensitive metadata. The vulnerability affects Apache Kylin versions from 4.0.0 up to and including 5.0.4. The vendor has addressed the issue in version 5.0.5.

Potential Impact

Unauthorized users may access backend metadata through the vulnerable API if the Kylin service is exposed to public networks. This could lead to information disclosure. However, typical in-house deployments that are not publicly exposed are mostly unaffected.

Mitigation Recommendations

Users should upgrade Apache Kylin to version 5.0.5 or later, where this vulnerability is fixed. No other mitigation steps are indicated by the vendor advisory.
