AI-suggested

An official fix is available and should be applied by updating the Linux kernel to a patched version. The vendor advisory from Ubuntu confirms that this issue has been resolved in updated kernel packages. Users should update their systems and reboot to apply the fix. No additional mitigation steps are required beyond applying the official patch.

Description

A use-after-free vulnerability in the Linux kernel's TIPC crypto decrypt path was fixed. The flaw occurs because the decrypt function does not properly take a network namespace reference before asynchronous decryption, leading to a use-after-free when the network namespace is torn down during an async callback. This vulnerability was resolved by mirroring the encrypt path's reference handling to prevent dereferencing freed memory.
