A patch is available and should be applied to affected Linux kernel versions. The vendor advisory confirms that this vulnerability has been resolved in updated kernel releases. Users should update to the fixed versions to mitigate this issue.
Description
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's AMD GPU JPEG driver was resolved by setting no_user_fence for JPEG v5.0.1 ring. The JPEG rings do not support 64-bit user fence writes and reject command submissions with user fences. This issue was fixed in Linux kernel versions after those listed. The vulnerability has a CVSS score of 7.8 and is rated medium severity. No known exploits in the wild have been reported. A patch is available to address this issue.
