AI-suggested
A patch is available and has been released in multiple Linux kernel versions starting from 6.8.0-1066.69~22.04.1 and related builds. Users and administrators should apply the official kernel updates from their distribution vendors, such as the Ubuntu security notices linked, and reboot the system to ensure the fix is applied. No additional mitigation steps are required beyond applying the official patches.
Description
A NULL pointer dereference vulnerability was fixed in the Linux kernel's drm/amdkfd subsystem. The flaw occurred when the process_info pointer was NULL if the user did not call kfd_ioctl_acquire_vm before kfd_ioctl_svm. This could lead to a kernel crash or other unintended behavior. The issue affects multiple Linux kernel versions prior to 6.8.0-1066.69~22.04.1 and related builds. A patch is available and should be applied to mitigate the issue.
