AI-suggested
A patch is available and has been included in Linux kernel versions 5.15.0-1117.124~20.04.1 and later related releases. Users should update their Linux kernel to one of the fixed versions to remediate this vulnerability. No additional mitigation actions are required beyond applying the official kernel updates.
Description
CVE-2026-63914 is a vulnerability in the Linux kernel's xfrm subsystem where MIGRATE notifications are incorrectly routed to the init_net namespace instead of the caller's network namespace. This causes IKE daemons running in non-init network namespaces to miss migration notifications, breaking IKEv2 MOBIKE and address-update handling within those namespaces. The flaw arises from hardcoded use of &init_net in multicast notifications, which was inconsistent with other netns-aware multicast paths. The issue has been fixed in Linux kernel versions starting from 5.15.0-1117.124~20.04.1 and similar releases. The vulnerability has a CVSS score of 7.3 (high severity) and does not have known exploits in the wild. A patch is available and included in official Linux kernel updates.
