AI-suggested
A patch is available and should be applied to all affected linux-aws kernel versions to mitigate this vulnerability. The vendor advisory from Ubuntu (USN-8593-1) confirms that this issue has been fixed in linux-aws kernel versions 7.0.0-28.28~24.04.1 and related builds. Users should update to these fixed versions as soon as possible.
Description
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's HID subsystem for Wacom devices allowed an out-of-bounds write due to incorrect assumptions about the location of the HID_DG_INPUTMODE usage in feature reports. This issue affects multiple linux-aws kernel versions prior to 7.0.0-28.28~24.04.1 and related builds. The flaw was fixed by correctly tracking the field index and adding bounds checks. A patch is available and should be applied to mitigate the risk.
