AI-suggested
An official patch is available and should be applied to affected Linux kernel versions to correct the replay protection behavior. The vendor advisory confirms the availability of fixes in Linux kernel versions 7.0.0-28.28 and later. Users should update their systems accordingly to mitigate this vulnerability.
Description
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's macsec subsystem (CVE-2026-63925) allows replay protection to be bypassed when the packet number wraps from its maximum 32-bit value back to zero. This flaw enables an attacker who captures a legitimate frame with the maximum packet number to replay it indefinitely. The issue affects multiple Linux kernel versions prior to 7.0.0-28.28 and specific other versions. A patch is available to fix this vulnerability.
