An official patch is available and should be applied to affected Linux kernel versions to address this issue. The vendor advisory confirms that the vulnerability has been fixed. Users should update their linux-hwe-edge kernel packages to versions including this fix to prevent potential data leakage.
Description
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's iio adc mt6359 driver was fixed by ensuring the return value of regmap_read() is checked in the mt6358_read_imp() function. Previously, if regmap_read() failed, an uninitialized variable val_v could leak random stack data as a measurement result. This fix initializes val_v to zero to prevent potential stack data leakage and satisfies static analyzers. The issue affects multiple Linux kernel versions and has been addressed in official patches.
