A fix is available that corrects the offset calculation and adds bounds checking in the xpad input driver. Users should update to the patched Linux kernel versions to remediate this issue.

Description

A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's xpad input driver allows out-of-bounds memory access when processing the Share button input from certain game controllers. This occurs because the function xpadone_process_packet uses the packet length directly without sufficient bounds checking, potentially leading to invalid memory reads if a malformed packet with insufficient length is received. The issue has been fixed by adding proper offset calculations and bounds checks against the packet length.
