AI-suggested

A fix has been implemented to address this race condition by adding a check for association migration during the wait in sctp_wait_for_connect(). Users should apply the official Linux kernel patches that include this fix.

Description

A race condition vulnerability in the Linux kernel SCTP implementation was resolved. The issue occurs in the sctp_wait_for_connect() function where the socket lock is dropped and re-acquired while waiting for an association to establish. During this window, another thread can peel off the association to a new socket, causing the function to return success under an incorrect lock. This leads to incorrect access to the association in sctp_datamsg_from_user(). The fix adds a check to detect if the association was migrated during the wait and returns an error if so.
