A patch is available and should be applied to affected Linux kernel versions. The vendor advisory from Ubuntu confirms that this and other kernel vulnerabilities have been fixed. Users should update their Linux kernel to a fixed version to remediate this issue.
Description
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's network scheduler (net/sched) involving mirred redirect loops has been resolved. The issue occurs when mirred redirects to ingress from either ingress or egress, causing the loop state to be lost due to packet deferral and clearing of the sched_mirred_dev array. This flaw could prevent detection of loops in certain network configurations. The vulnerability affects multiple Linux kernel versions and has been fixed in updated releases.
