A patch is available and should be applied to affected Linux kernel versions to resolve this issue. The vendor advisory confirms that this vulnerability has been fixed. Users should update their Linux kernel to a fixed version to mitigate this issue.
Description
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel bridge subsystem was fixed that addressed a sleep call in atomic context within the sysfs path. The issue arose because the bridge lock was held too broadly during attribute processing, causing a function that can sleep to be called in an invalid context, leading to kernel bugs. The fix reduces the scope of the bridge lock to only when processing STP-related attributes that require it.
