Description
CVE-2026-64009 is a high-severity vulnerability in the Linux kernel's xfrm subsystem affecting the xfrm_state_mtu function. The flaw involves an underflow condition in arithmetic operations on MTU values when processing IPv4 ESP tunnel security associations with specific configurations. This underflow leads to a large negative value being interpreted as a very large unsigned integer, causing an out-of-bounds write of zeroes in kernel memory. The issue causes sendmsg system calls to fail with ENETUNREACH. The vulnerability has been fixed in multiple Linux kernel versions.
