What to do

AI-suggested

A fix has been applied to the Linux kernel source code to address this issue by correcting the error handling path to release the leaked reference. Users should update their Linux kernel to a version that includes this fix. Patch status is not explicitly stated; check the vendor or Linux kernel advisories for the exact fixed versions and apply updates accordingly.

Description

A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's drm/xe component caused a reference leak in the exec_queue during stream open when a width check failed. Specifically, when param.exec_q->width was greater than 1, the function returned early without releasing a reference, causing the exec_queue and associated file private state to remain pinned indefinitely. This issue has been fixed by ensuring the error path properly releases the reference.
