A patch is available and should be applied to affected Linux kernel versions. The vendor advisory confirms that this issue has been resolved in updated kernel releases. Users should update to the fixed kernel versions to mitigate this vulnerability. No additional mitigation actions are indicated by the vendor advisory.
Description
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's rxrpc subsystem related to DATA packet decryption and splice() handling has been fixed. The issue involved pagecache corruption due to in-place decryption of DATA packets transmitted locally by splice(), which could lead to data integrity problems. The fix involves copying packet data into a bounce buffer for decryption before copying to the destination buffer, preventing modification of the original sk_buff and improving crypto processing alignment. This resolves the flaw originally addressed in CVE-2026-43500 and improves performance and correctness of packet handling.
