AI-suggested
An official patch is available and should be applied to affected Linux kernel versions to resolve this vulnerability. The vendor advisory from Ubuntu confirms the issue has been fixed. Users should update their Linux kernel packages to the fixed versions as soon as possible. No additional mitigations are specified or required beyond applying the patch.
Description
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's net shaper subsystem was resolved that involved improper handling of duplicate leaves in GROUP requests. The function net_shaper_nl_group_doit() did not deduplicate NET_SHAPER_A_LEAVES entries, causing a double free of a parent pointer when the same leaf handle was supplied twice. This flaw could lead to memory corruption. The issue affects multiple Linux kernel versions and has been addressed by an official patch.
