What to do

AI-suggested

A fix for this vulnerability has been implemented in the Linux kernel source code. Users and administrators should update to a Linux kernel version that includes this fix. Since no vendor advisory or patch link is provided, check the official Linux kernel repositories or distribution updates for the corrected kernel version.

Description

A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's netfs subsystem involving the netfs_write_begin() function and VM_BUG_ON_FOLIO() check has been resolved. The issue could cause a kernel BUG at mm/filemap.c:1504, reproducible with about 30% probability using a specific test case. This bug leads to a kernel crash (BUG) triggered by improper folio locking state during write operations. The vulnerability was identified and fixed in the Linux kernel source code.
