An official patch is available and should be applied to affected Linux kernel versions. The vendor advisory confirms that this vulnerability is resolved in updated linux-hwe-edge kernel releases. Users should update to the fixed kernel versions to mitigate this issue.
Description
A high-severity vulnerability (CVE-2026-64077) in the Linux kernel's netfilter ebtables subsystem has been resolved. The issue involved the handling of the ebt_table struct and its operations assignment, which could lead to exposure of partially-filled table structures. The fix implements a two-stage removal scheme and ensures operations assignment occurs while holding the ebt mutex. Multiple affected Linux kernel versions are addressed by this patch.
