AI-suggested
A patch is available and has been released in multiple Linux kernel versions starting from 5.15.0-1117.124~20.04.1 and later. Users should update their Linux kernel to one of the fixed versions to remediate this issue. No additional mitigation steps are required beyond applying the official fix.
Description
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's batman-adv module could cause a NULL pointer dereference when handling mesh interfaces. This occurs if a primary interface is decoupled from its mesh interface without proper locking, leading to a NULL pointer being dereferenced during ARP request sending. The issue has been fixed in multiple Linux kernel versions.
