An official patch is available and should be applied promptly. The vendor advisory confirms that updating the Linux kernel to the fixed versions resolves this vulnerability. After applying the update, a system reboot is required. No additional mitigation steps are necessary beyond applying the official fix.
Description
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's L2TP protocol implementation (CVE-2026-64119) allows an unprivileged local user with CAP_NET_ADMIN in a network namespace to indefinitely pin a host CPU by exploiting a race condition involving concurrent L2TP commands. The issue arises from improper use of list manipulation functions leading to an infinite loop during session list traversal. This vulnerability has been addressed with an official patch.
