AI-suggested
A patch is available and has been released in multiple Linux kernel versions including 5.15.0-1117.124~20.04.1 and later. Users should apply the official kernel updates from their distribution vendors to remediate this issue. After updating, a system reboot is required to activate the fixes. No additional mitigation steps are necessary beyond applying the official patches.
Description
A reference count leak vulnerability was identified and fixed in the Linux kernel's SCMI regulator driver. The issue occurred in the scmi_regulator_probe() function, where a device node reference obtained via of_find_node_by_name() was not properly released on an error path, causing a resource leak. This flaw has been addressed by adding the missing of_node_put() call to release the reference correctly.
