A fix is available in the Linux kernel as indicated by multiple fixed commit versions. Users should update to a kernel version that includes these fixes. No additional mitigation is required once patched.
Description
CVE-2026-64424 is a use-after-free vulnerability in the Linux kernel's netpoll subsystem affecting version 3.6. The flaw occurs during the shutdown path when a pending TX worker runs concurrently with the cleanup process, leading to a use-after-free detected by KASAN. The issue arises because cancel_delayed_work() does not wait for the worker to finish, allowing the worker to access freed memory. The fix involves using disable_delayed_work_sync() to ensure the worker is fully stopped before freeing memory.
