AI-suggested
A patch is available and has been applied in Linux kernel versions 5.15.0-1117.124~20.04.1 and later. Users should update their Linux kernel to one of the fixed versions to mitigate this vulnerability. No additional mitigation steps are required beyond applying the official kernel update.
Description
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's NTFS3 filesystem driver allows a crafted NTFS image to cause a kernel slab out-of-bounds write during journal replay at mount time. This occurs due to improper validation of the Dirty Page Table capacity and log replay action log record fields, which can lead to memory corruption. The issue has been fixed in several Linux kernel versions.
