Description
CVE-2026-64497 addresses a sign-extension bug in the Linux kernel's iio chemical scd30 driver. The flaw involved improper bitwise operations corrupting the exponent part of a floating-point value. The issue was fixed by refactoring initializations and replacing manual bit manipulation with safer macros. Multiple Linux kernel versions prior to 5.15.0-1117.124~20.04.1 and others are affected. A patch is available and has been released in several fixed kernel versions.
