AI-suggested

A fix is available that adds an overflow check before memory allocation in the affected function. Users should apply the official Linux kernel patches that address CVE-2026-64548. Since this is a kernel vulnerability, updating to a patched kernel version is the recommended remediation. No alternative mitigations or workarounds are indicated.

Description

A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's BPF sockmap implementation allows an attacker to cause an out-of-bounds memory copy due to an integer overflow in the bpf_msg_push_data() function. This occurs when a crafted length value causes the sum of copy + len to wrap around, leading to an undersized memory allocation and subsequent memory corruption. The issue has been resolved by adding an overflow check before allocation.
