AI-suggested
A patch is available and should be applied. The fix involves replacing devm_request_irq() with request_irq(), adding explicit free_irq() calls during device removal, clearing device interrupt enable before freeing IRQ, and cancelling delayed work synchronously to prevent use-after-free conditions. Users should update to the fixed Linux kernel versions listed in the established facts to remediate this vulnerability.
Description
CVE-2026-64583 is a vulnerability in the Linux kernel's Broadcom BDC UDC driver where improper handling of IRQ and delayed work during device teardown can lead to use-after-free or null pointer dereference conditions. This occurs because the IRQ handler and delayed work are not properly freed or cancelled before memory is released, potentially causing kernel crashes or system compromise. The issue has been fixed by changing the IRQ request and release logic and ensuring proper cancellation of delayed work before memory teardown.
