What to do
AI-suggested
A patch is available and should be applied by updating to the fixed Linux kernel versions as indicated in the vendor advisories. After updating, a system reboot is required to apply the changes. No additional mitigation actions are specified or required beyond applying the official fix.
Description
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's ARC EMAC ethernet driver was resolved by ensuring interrupts are quiesced before requesting IRQs. This prevents stale or latched interrupt statuses from causing spurious interrupt delivery during device teardown, which could lead to race conditions. The issue affects certain Linux kernel versions prior to specific 5.15.0 releases. A patch is available and included in updated Linux kernel packages.
