An official patch is available and included in Linux kernel updates. Users should apply the updated kernel versions to remediate this vulnerability. The vendor advisory confirms that the issue is fixed in the specified kernel releases. No additional mitigation steps are required beyond applying the official fix.
Description
A use-after-free vulnerability in the Linux kernel's Amlogic crypto driver (meson_crypto_probe) was fixed. The issue occurs when partial allocation failures lead to double cleanup of resources, causing a slab-use-after-free detected by KASAN. This flaw could cause kernel memory corruption and potentially escalate privileges or cause denial of service. The vulnerability was identified and fixed in Linux kernel versions prior to 7.0.0-31.31 and related builds. A patch is available and included in official Linux kernel updates.
