AI-suggested

Since MediaCMS 8.2.0 is affected, users should monitor the vendor advisory for updates. Until a fix is released, restrict access to the playlist API to trusted users and consider additional access control measures to prevent unauthorized media token manipulation.

Description

MediaCMS version 8.2.0 has an information disclosure vulnerability that allows authenticated users to access private media metadata of other users. By adding arbitrary media tokens to their own playlist via a PUT request to the playlist API, attackers can bypass ownership validation and retrieve sensitive fields such as title, description, view count, like count, file size, author username, and encoding status. This flaw arises from missing access control checks on media tokens in playlist operations.
