Technical Analysis

CVE-2026-65110 is a deserialization of untrusted data vulnerability (CWE-502) in NVIDIA Megatron-LM's checkpoint loading process. This flaw allows an attacker to execute arbitrary code remotely by convincing a user to load a malicious checkpoint file. The vulnerability impacts confidentiality, integrity, and availability, as indicated by the CVSS vector (AV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H). No vendor advisory or patch information is available at this time.

Potential Impact

Successful exploitation can result in remote code execution, escalation of privileges, disclosure of sensitive information, and tampering with data. This compromises the security of systems running the affected Megatron-LM software, potentially allowing attackers to control or disrupt operations.

Mitigation Recommendations

Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. Until a fix is available, users should avoid loading untrusted checkpoint files and apply strict validation or sandboxing when handling such files.
